of 1975. Yes I do remember. The lesson here is whenever someone tries to panic you take a deep breath, stop running with the herd, and look for the larger picture. Knowledge changes. Wisdom endures.

Indeed there is an apocalypse under every "scientific discovery" which will be supplanted by another type of apocalypse in a few years...but for some reason we think the latest discovery is more scientific than the last one. Its the secular version of the rapture and millenialism.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember some other predictions of those days we should be killing each other about now as the explosion of the population bomb made resources scarce with widespread starvation etc., etc....
ReplyDeleteYup. We should be manufacturing Soylent Green by now. (It has nothing to do with soy products or Lent, nor is it "green").
